However, Chiranjeevi entry into politics began to be widely discussed in the media and political arena in late 2007 at which time there were links to the media saying that he wanted to enter politics with his close friends. But since he was the top hero in the film then, Chiranjeevi had a large number of fans in the then united state not only that but Chiranjeevi also had recognition. He had a good relationship with the leaders of all the political parties and besides Chiranjeevis fans have asked him to enter politics several times in public but when Chiranjeevi was thinking of entering politics his fans encouraged Chiranjeevi to follow his ideas and enter politics. Chiranjeevi also received a large amount of support from the public. With the encouragement given by his fans the support given by the people and the advice of some close friends after thinking hard for about 8 months on 17th August 2008 Chiranjeevi announced the formation of a political party for the first time on 17th August 2008. He said that he will organize an open meeting and announce the name of his party in that meeting But when Chiranjeevi himself announced his party many politicians joined him in support of Chiranjeevi even before the name of the party was fully announced. In those days, big politicians like Hari Rama Jogaiah from Congress Party Students Rao from Telugu Desam Party and Bhuma Nagireddy supported Chiranjeevi. But as per the earlier announced date on 26th August 2008 in a huge public meeting organized in the 120 acre Avinala tank ground in Tirupati in the presence of nearly one million fans Chiranjeevi announced the name of his party as Praja Rajyam.
After a long speech and in the same public meeting announced the Ajanta of the party and also unveiled the flag but in 2008 as Chief Minister Chiranjeevi happily announced that YS Rajasekhar Reddy was the candidate for Harita Andhra Pradesh but two days after the announcement a person named Chennai Krishnaiah from Kadapa district applied before Chiranjeevi to form a party named Praja Rajyam. Thus he convinced the man to withdraw his application and the name of the party was digitized by the Election Commission. That way the Praja Rajyam Party was officially registered as a political party. The assembly elections were to be held in April. After the party was established on August 26 on 2008 the Praja Rajyam Party only got time to go to the people but the movie was from them. Chiranjeevi also felt that he himself Tambulu Nagababu Garu Pawan Kalyan Garu started making introductions for the party after the announcement of the party and since there was very little time for the elections, Chiranjeevi thought that he learned a yatra across the state. Praja Rajyam attracted the opposition votes to itself instead of going towards the opposition Telugu Desam Party so in the month of March 2008 along with the Lok Sabha elections, there was also a notification for the assembly elections in the state. Telugu Desam Party and TRS Party which is in opposition of Congress Party after 2004 election Congress Party has 185 MLAs while Telugu Desam Party has 47 MLAs and TRS Party has 23 MLAs apart from these three parties there are few MLAs related to CPI, CPM, BJP parties now for the matter of 2009 election. When it comes to the Praja Rajyam Party in the 2009 elections, out of the total 294 assembly seats in the state, the Praja Rajyam Party won MLAs in 28 seats and a total of 42 MP in the Tirupati constituency alone. Congress party retained its power to win 156 seats in that election as grand alliance TDP TRS CPSC notification but Praja Rajyam party which contested in 2008 seats alone managed to win 18 seats and the third place belongs to praja rajam
