Bajaj has grown to become the second largest two wheeler brand not only in India but also in the world by manufacturing the highest mileage motorcycles in India and has become the second largest two wheeler brand in India. Due to the presence of some advanced features in the newly launched scooter of Konda Company in India the customers also shifted from Bajaj to Honda at once, so Bajaj Company, which ruled the Indian scooter market single-handedly for several decades, suddenly lost all their business and went into a lot of losses. Rahul Bajaj was the MD of the company but he resigned from the company but then a young and dynamic businessman Rajeev Bajaj took over the company and started his genius business and made a motorcycle to compete with the Honda company. Changed the future but the point here is that Bajaj company which was sunk in huge losses in 21st time, climbed a step again and explained their business to different sectors and today I am going to tell how it has grown to be one of the most successful company not only in India but also in the world. How the original Bajaj company started is that in 905 a man named Bachiraju Bajaj started a cotton trading company in Maharashtra. After a few years his grandson Jamlal Bajaj covered the company and in 1927 changed it to Pachiraju Company Private Limited and the company became Bajaj Group of Industries
But in this video we have become Bajaj Group. Let us look at the existing company called Bajaj Auto.
Due to the participation of Jannala Bajaj in the independence struggle all the business was done by his younger brother Kamal Nayan Bajaj. He established a trading corporation in 1945 but the business of this company is to import two wheeler and three-wheeler vehicles from abroad to India and sell them in India. But at the time of India’s independence Indians were suffering a lot of poverty due to British exploitation but what do you think it has to do with the Bajaj company tell me Kammalu Bajaj imported vehicles from abroad and sold them in India so their prices here were very high but none of the Indians would have bought these imported vehicles. Observing this Kamal Nayan Bajaj took a license from the Indian government in 1959 to manufacture and sell two wheeler and three-wheeler vehicles in India but they did not have the necessary technology or missionary to manufacture vehicles on their own, so Bajaj made a deal with a company called Piago from Italy.
Vespa scooters are manufactured and sold in India by Bajaj Company According to this deal in 1959 Vespa scooters manufactured by Bajaj Company became a big success in India. Many people dream of buying scooters Bajaj Company also used the profits coming to them and expanded their business very fast. Finally, in 1965 Kamal Nayan Bajaj handed over his business responsibilities to his son Rahul Bajaj. A major problem faced by the company was that in 1959 Bajaj Company ended its deal with Piago Company to manufacture Vespa scooters in India.
The Piago company did not agree to continue again so the Vespa scooter business, which was running very successfully in India until then, was suddenly transferred from the Bajaj company. Suddenly, Rahul Bajaj, who was in a situation where he did not know what to do took a final decision that is until then, we relied on experience or foreign companies in making scooters. Now we have experience so we decided to make our own scooter and finally in 1972 Bajaj company made its own scooter like Vespa scooter, same Bajaj Chetak this scooter does not need any introduction in India because from 1970 to 2000 Indian scooter business for almost 30 years. There is no company that has beaten Bajaj Chetak, the reason for this is that this cart was very comfortable for the middle class people to take children to go anywhere and its price was also very reasonable. Finally, from 1972 to 1990 there was no competition against Bajaj company in the Indian scooter business, but in 1991 the Indian government brought the economic reference and allowed foreign companies to do business in India freely. Bajaj used to be the leader in the existing scooter business But after the economic reference of 1992 many poran companies asked in the Indian scooter business in which the company that we need to mention is the Honda company from Japan But here you need to know an important thing that is actually the Honda company has been doing business in India since 1984 but not directly but in collaboration with the Hero company from India.
Doing business means that Bajaj Company has done business with Piago and Honda has done business with Hero in India. But why I am saying all this is that before 1991 foreign companies could not do business directly in India, if they want to do business in India, they should start business only through partnership with companies in India, but in 1991 Economic Reference, this rule was removed and foreign companies were invited to do business in India directly. Honda Company came in 1991. Following the new rules, it launched its own scooter in the Indian market in 2002, which was the Honda Activa but until then the Indians who had lost the habit of kicking the cart to start it and shifting gears to move the cart forward, Honda company’s first time without gears, Bajaj Chetak with electric button start technology means better design. Due to launch of used Honda Activa in the market, all the customers have shifted from Bajaj Chetak to Honda Activa.
On the other hand due to the use of Honda and Suzuki motorcycles, all the customers felt Bajaj scooters as old model and outdated for 30 years in India. Bajaj Auto, the top company in the automobile market, was losing 32% to 40% of their company value every year after 2001 because 80% of the sales of Bajaj Company came from Chetak, and finally in 2005 Bajaj Company sold Chetak Scooters based on the changing market conditions. Bajaj Company which was in a critical situation was stopped by Rahul Bajaj but his son Rajiv Bajaj handed it over to Rajiv Bajaj. Although Rajiv Bajaj was a mechanical engineer
He was actually working in different positions in Bajaj company since 1990. But the point here is that Raju Bajaj thought that in 1997 even if the scooter business was good in India, he strongly believed that there would be more demand for motorcycles in the future, so Bajaj Company should become number one in the business of model bicycles. Bajaj Kawasaki Boxer Caliber and Win 125 were launched in India in partnership but the thing you need to know is that the motorcycles manufactured by Bajaj Company in 1995 were not as successful in India as they were in foreign countries. Their bikes are doing the wrong thing by targeting and that is why the competition has increased in this segment Raju Bajaj noticed this and put aside the tour and middle class segment and launched a new motorcycle under the Bajaj company under the Bajaj company targeting the premium customers. Despite its launc it has attracted the middle class customers and particularly the youth it would have been a dream bike.
This single motorcycle has increased the income and profit of the Bajaj company once again and made Bajaj give a strong competition to the hero Honda Yamaha and Suzuki in the market Finally in 2007 Raju Bajaj launched successful models like Pulsar and Platina and brought the Bajaj company back into form, but they could not launch a proper vehicle even in the premium segment. Looking for a good opportunity Raju Bajaj got that opportunity in 2007. In 2007 KTM Power Sports a premium bike manufacturing company was in heavy losses so the company was looking for investors to cover their losses. In 2007 Raju Bajaj bought 14 % share bought so this is the sucess story of Bajaj company
