In 1959 a seven year old boy from a middle class family started a small business with the idea that he should support his family due to the poor financial condition of his family but they had no education, no skills, no money to do business at least they did not know how to talk to customers but they started with an investment of just 80 rupees. Today their business has grown to a 1600 crore rupees company the same laser puppet business means that today everyone is starting regardless of whether they are male or female some people are becoming successful but if we go back 70 years it means that in the days of our country independence women did not do business at least they used to go outside the house. No this business which was started by making appadas without leaving home at such a time today has grown to the level of expanding their business in 17 states of India giving jobs to 45 thousand women but how did all this become possible women who did not even study 5th standard created a big business empire and a few thousand people. So far we have seen the business models of the Tatas, Ambanis, Adanis and even Gujaratis and Marwadi but for the first time I am going to tell you today what kind of business these seven women who came without any background and established such a big company started and used and in 1959 a group of seven Gujarati women in Mumbai decided to start a small business by making appadas which they were very familiar
So although appadas business does not require a large investment they need some money to buy raw material. Seven women held a meeting on their floor and decided how to make appadas. Finally they made four pockets of appadas and supplied them to a shop in their area. Due to the good quality and taste of the appadas they made orders are slowly coming to them from many shops in the market. But here you need to know one thing that they are all very common middle class women so they do not know business practices like deceiving the customer and making more money all they know is to make the appadas well and supply them to the stores. And the taste was also much better. Soas the demand for their business increased in the market, these seven women decided to recruit employees to expand their business but unlike all the companies in the market here these women followed a new type of business model the same cooperative business model that is the business model of many companies in our country I have not really touched on it so far because no big company follows this model but if you want to tell me what is the reason for this, normally in any company there are owners and there are employees the company profits and losses are taken by the owners and the employees are paid monthly this is a business generally followed by everyone. There is no difference between owners and employees in the model
Everyone who works in the company has a lot of share in the company so if there is a profit or loss it falls on everyone who works in the company and when the business is going well like everyone else they hire employees for monthly salary and do not develop their business. What is the need to give Did you get this doubt If you get any other doubt the answer to this is that you do not understand values. Values means values. It is not about establishing a big company or earning crores of rupees. In 1950 women were looked at very little in India. No some women suffer from hardships for the rest of their lives due to lack of education but skills to raise children if their husbands die so these seven women started a company called Shree Mahila Griha Udyoga Papad with the intention of providing work to such women and providing them with an assurance for their future. It works thats why they started it as a cooperative moment not like a business. Because of this the advantage is that if this company grows in the future everyone who worked for it will grow. See what the ideology is. Apart from that next their main focus is on women empowerment the main intention of this lijid papad company is to create a platform for women to stand on their own feet and grow on their own that is why this company calls their employees as legend sisters so far we have seen the business model of this company but now let us see how the business of this company actually runs.
The company had big factories but buildings but nothing actually but they used to make a few lakhs of Appadas daily and supply them to the market how is this possible This company prepares the starch required for any kind of preparation by the users and supplies it to the workers, so the advantage of this is that only one person supplies the raw material to these workers, so whoever made the appadas and where they made it the test is the same so even if the company supplies it. All the workers take this flour to their homes and make appadas and dry them on the floor. If the company gives them the appadas, then the company gives them money. So in the same process, the appadas are made. But here you have to notice that in the process of making these appadas this company does not have any costly equipment, but mostly money. Costly work is not done, so due to this, the products of the Lizard Company deliver good quality and tasty product at a lower price than all the companies in the market and here another important point is that the women who make appadas for this company are visited by a quality inspection team of the company immediately and check the quality and hygiene of the appadas made there. What is the difference if they spend hundreds of crores of rupees and build factories these women turn their house into a factory and do a simple business of crores of rupees. This company has supplied aluminum papad makers. Along with the quality of the product the quantity and size should also be the same. So for this purpose this company designs an aluminum papad maker in a particular shape and thickness.
These workers supplied all the workers so daily these women used to go to the company mills in the company buses bring the flour to their homes, prepare the cakes at home and return them to the same company buses. This company became a big business in Mumbai after a few years without the knowledge of the people who founded this company along with jobs for thousands of women. Leased papad company has helped a lot to improve their lives, so my dear audience there are few thousands of companies in India but what is the difference between them and the security company is that any company will try to reduce their production cost and increase their profits. We have seen many people who have lost their jobs like this but the Leche Puddu company works differently from this process because even if they use new technology and missionaries for the development of this company their workers will not be removed from their jobs under any circumstances. Because as we already talked about in the video starting this company was established not to make profits, but to support women and bring light to their lives it is women empowerment so because of this the jobs in a company that protects the truth will not increase except for the increase of women so because this company still follows this desire they are successful only in business. The prestigious award in our country has risen to the level of receiving the Padma Shri award. In 2021 Jaswanti Ben Jamuna Das, one of the first seven women who founded the company, has been awarded the Padma Shri award by the Indian Government.
So here is an important lesson that we need to learn is that if you do business, you can make money but if you want to get any respect you must have values. A comprehensive business should be done. So finally an important point that we need to learn is that most of us want to do business either on our own or through partnership but none of us follow this cooperative model very much but here you have to remember that there are some companies that are doing business following this cooperative model a perfect example of this is Amul Company. This is also a co operative business started. Some farmers in Gujarat established this company in 1946. If there is an idea that many people in a village should work together forming a co-operative society and doing business like this will give much better results because here along with the profit and loss. Everyone shares the responsibility equally.
