Why did Gandhiji make Nehru the prime minister while there was Vallabhbhai Patel Why did Gandhiji take this decision
Is Nehru greater than Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel why did Mahatma Gandhi take this decision the questions of in-laws are still debated in the Constitution of India even after seven decades of independence. Today I will fully explain to you the whole story of how he became the Prime Minister. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is 71 years old and Nehru is 56 years old, that is patel is only six years younger than Gandhi but if you look directly at Patel, Nehru is much younger than Patel and when Patel was the first prime minister of India he had all the qualifications and experience in terms of age and all the leaders as an officer of India. Nehru was the first to be handed over as the Prime Minister by saying that he would not announce it at the same time, on the other hand, he was a little stubborn to separate India from Pakistan so these quarrels should be settled, that is all the Congress political leaders also thought that the leadership of the country should be handed over to Patel although Gandhiji was in favor, Nehru chose Nehru as the first president, not Patel but why did none of the leaders in the Congress Before all these questions let us see how the relations between Gandhiji patel and Nehru were, but the quarrels then the rest of the questions will be answered nehru also completed his degree in the same university where Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel received his degree.
He was one of the most expensive lawyers in Gujarat in fact initially he did not like Gandhi.Gandhi came to Gujarat for the first time in 1916 after raising the flag in South Africa. He was congratulated in different parts of the country. Patel was not impressed at all Gandhi deas failed to excite Patel who was liked by the people because India has no dearth of greats and the country needs someone to work for it
in fact initially Gandhi was not very fond of Patel. Gandhi came to Gujarat for the first time in 1916 after Gandhi raised the flag in South Africa. He was congratulated in different parts of the country. There is no dearth of greats. The country needs someone who can work. If we talk about where Gandhi met Patel for the first time and how they met Gandhi came to Gujarat one day in 1916. At that time, Patel was playing poker with his fellow Ganesh Vasi Mamulu Ankar in the same club. They saw that he likes Gandhi as much as he likes his policies, so Gandhi got up to meet him when he entered the club then Patel laughed and satirized Ganesh Patel on Gandhi policies. Patel changed his opinion towards Gandhi very quickly so the hatred towards him became a bit more Patel said you have seen Gandhi’s behavior and he was very connected to his policies since then Patel stayed with Gandhi and when the keda movement happened Patel became closer to Gandhi and when the difference movement happened Patel and Gandhi became closer.
There was only a six year age difference between them so it was not embarrassing and they both used to get along very well.
both were equally friendly with each other and when the Non-Cooperation Movement started Patel Gandhiji left his practice which was running well and since then he has done many similar movements, in which Patel led a prominent peasant movement in 1928 to protest against the increase in the provincial government and finally the British government had to bow down to him. After this movement, the women of Gujarat gave him the title Sardar in respect and in 1931, in the currency session of the Congress, Patel became the president of the party. If till then he was in the regional group, this Patel became the president of the entire state.
Now let’s know about the relationship between Nehru and Gandhi. Born into a Kashmiri Brahmin family his father Motilal Nehru was a prominent lawyer as well as an influential political activist. Nehru’s family was very high in their practices and encouraged speaking English. He also hired an English teacher to supervise his childrens studies at home. During Nehru’s stay in London he studied literature, politics, economics, history etc. He was attracted to the ideas of liberalism socialism, nationalism. After completing his studies in 1912 Nehru returned to India and joined the bar of the High Court Elected President of Municipal Corporation in 1920 Nehru was jailed
For participating in the first legislative campaign as General Secretary of the United Travels Congress Committee in 1921 His active life but philosophy helped him gain a deep understanding of the nuances of the Non-Cooperation Movement and moved Nehru as a nationalist leader in North India over time. His loyalty to the Congress remained steadfast in the wake of the split in the party due to the decision to either postpone the movement to help after the incident Nehru refused to join the Swaraj Party founded by his father Motilal Nehru and Chittaranjan in 1922 because of his admiration for Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru and his family were persuaded by France and the Soviet Union to join in 1926. Traveled to European countries like the Union as well as many communists from Asia Africa sought meetings with socialists and radical leaders Nehru was also attracted by the economic system of the Communist Union and wanted to implement the same policy in his own country In 1927 he became a member of the League Against Imperialism created in the capital city of Belgium before becoming Prime Minister Nehru’s Biography and how was Nehru election as Prime Minister india was supposed to get independence on August 15 in 1947 but a year before that Britain handed over the power to the Indians and they told you to form a provisional government for your country everyone decided to do it but at that time Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was the president of the Congress.
It was time to step down gandhi had already decided to hand over the reins of the party to Nehru. Gandhi wrote a letter to Maulana on 20th April 1946 saying that he should issue a one-sentence resolution saying that he did not want to be the president any more All the Congress understood that Gandhi wanted to make Nehru the Prime Minister with the letter and on 29th April 1946 Congress Working Committee meeting had to choose a new president of the party to become the Prime Minister of India for the interim government which was formed in a few months. In this meeting Mahatma Gandhi along with Nehru Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel surprise Rajendra Prasad Khan Abdul Kafar Khan were present in this meeting. All the leaders of Congress agree. Everyone present at the meeting knew that Gandhi wanted Nehru to be the party president however according to tradition, the election of the Congress President is conducted by the Regional Congress Committee but 12 of the 15 Regional Committees nominated Sardar Patel’s name and the remaining three Committees surprisingly none of the Regional Congress Committees nominated Nehru’s name as the President.
Party General Secretary Kripal An passed the PCC election ticket to Gandhi Gandhi looked at Airplane he understood what Gandhi was thinking so he prepared a new proposal and proposed Nehru’s name which was signed by all and Patel also signed it now there are two candidates for the post of President one Nehru and the other Patel when Nehru withdrew his name Nehru became the President It may be over, Kripala wrote an application to withdraw his name on a paper and gave it to Patel to sign, that is Gandhiji said to Patel that Nehru wanted to be the president so you should take name offers and sign the paper but Patel did not sign he forwarded it to Gandhi. No other regional congress committee has suggested.
